Where to Print on a Hoodie: Placement & Sizing Guide

Front, back, sleeve, or hood? Placement makes or breaks a custom hoodie. Here are the positions and sizes we actually use — and the seams to design around.

A great hoodie design fails if it sits on the kangaroo pocket seam or disappears into the hood. Use this hoodie print placement guide before you upload art.

Front chest

Classic left or centre chest for logos. Keep clear of the pocket top on pullovers. Typical logo widths: ~3–4 inches for left chest; larger for centre graphics.

Full front / oversized

Big graphics need height above the pocket. Preview in the customizer — fleece folds differently than a tee.

Back prints

Upper back and full back are popular for teams and grads. Keep important detail out of the hood hang when worn up. See grad and team hoodies.

Sleeves

Vertical or small hits work for sponsors. Account for seam and cuff — narrow tall art usually reads better than wide blocks.

Hood (use sparingly)

Possible on some blanks; hard to keep flat and symmetrical. Ask before promising a hood print on a tight deadline.

What size is a standard back print on a hoodie?

Often in the 10–14 inch width range depending on blank and design. We scale to the garment in the proof.

Can I print over the pocket?

Not cleanly — design above the pocket or use a zip hoodie / pocket-free blank.

Front and back on one hoodie?

Yes. Each placement can change price and press time.

Does DTF work on fleece?

Yes with correct temperature and pressure. Follow wash care so prints last.
