Custom Tee Boutique (“we”, “us”) operates customteeboutique.ca and our online shop from Ottawa, Canada. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applicable provincial laws, and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

Quebec residents may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (CAI). Other Canadians may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC).
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to quote, produce, and deliver your order:
- Identity & contact: name, email, phone (optional), shipping or billing details you provide at checkout or quote.
- Account: email and password (stored hashed) if you create a customer account; order history linked to your account.
- Order & design data: product choices, sizes, colours, artwork uploads, placement notes, and mockups needed to fulfil your order.
- Technical: IP address, browser type, and server logs from our host (SiteGround) for security and troubleshooting.
- Communications: messages you send us (email, phone, order notes) and our replies.
3. Why we collect it & legal basis
- Contract: to process orders, provide mockups, and deliver custom printing services.
- Consent: account creation, marketing emails (only if you opt in), and non-essential cookies (see Cookies below).
- Legitimate interests: fraud prevention, site security, and improving our shop — balanced against your privacy rights.
- Legal obligation: tax, accounting, or law-enforcement requests where required.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies today. If we add analytics (e.g. Google Analytics), we will update this policy and ask for consent first.
5. Who we share information with
- Service providers: website hosting (SiteGround), email delivery, and blank-garment suppliers only as needed to fulfil orders.
- CDN / font providers: as described in the cookie table, when you consent to functional cookies.
- Legal: when required by law or to protect our rights, customers, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Storage, retention & location
Order, account, and artwork files are stored on our servers in Canada / the United States (hosting provider). We keep order records as long as needed for production, warranty, tax, and reorder support — typically 7 years for financial records and shorter for abandoned carts. You may ask us to delete data subject to legal retention requirements.
7. Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls on admin areas, and server-side storage outside the public web root for secrets. No method is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password for your account.
8. Your rights (Canada & Quebec)
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate information;
- Withdraw consent for marketing or non-essential cookies;
- Request deletion or de-indexing where Law 25 applies;
- Portability of certain information in a commonly used format (Quebec);
- Challenge our compliance — contact us first, then OPC or CAI.
We will respond within 30 days (or the deadline required by Quebec law for certain requests).
9. Marketing & CASL
We only send promotional email or SMS if you have given express or implied consent under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), or if you are an existing customer and the message relates to your order. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Transactional messages (order confirmations, mockups) are not marketing.
10. Children
Our shop is not directed at children under 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change and, for material changes, we will post a notice on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes notice; where Quebec law requires fresh consent, we will obtain it.
